Challenge
for British Standards
Could it be that a new British Standard will solve the dilemma that
we face when it comes to managing our trees? Those responsible for making
decisions on tree safety issues may well identify with this scenario....
Focus
should be on planting not preserving
It's a sad indictment of the arboricultural and horticultural industries
to see so many trees planted each year – and left to die, leaving
sites as weedy eyesores. Things have improved since the 1980s and more
trees survive now than then, but it wasn't difficult to improve from
that was it?
